| Done and dusted – we defeated Halti! |
Admittedly, we had hoped that the weather at the start here in Finland would have been better – the temperature was peaking just above freezing und it was raining relentlessly – nevertheless, we could hardly wait to get started on the first stage. The start gun was fired at the crack of dawn on the summit of Haltis, the highest mountain in Finland, with a height of 1,328m. Bright and early, we began to make our way, biking, climbing and hiking, and through this, obtained a good insight into what we might expect between now and our arrival on December 1st in Cape Town.
