Early in the morning, we cross the tree line and finally arrive to a point about 200 metres underneath the peak, in amongst a labyrinth of boulders. At 7.30 am, we stand at the highest point of Mount Binga, 2,436 metres above sea level, and unfurl our banner with the national flag of Mozambique, as well as the estimated number of unknown cases of HIV and AIDS illnesses and infections in this country alone: 2.2 million people.
On the way back, we cannot see our hands in front of our faces. The squally wind blows the rainclouds towards the mountain. Around mid-afternoon we eventually reach our vehicles. When we get there, we ascertain that our KYOCERA printer has coped well with the moist weather conditions, and can still provide us with quality print-outs!
